It’s hard to believe that in 1998 when the movie “You’ve Got Mail” came out, people like me actually looked forward to opening their inbox. Back then having no emails in your inbox was like having no friends. Today your inbox is for a selected few.
Email is like Tetris.
There’s always more coming, and faster.
Unless you do something about it.
But why should you better manage your email?
To start, because email is your to-do list other people can write on. Yet, there is much more.
When you finally gain control of your inbox,
you will see improvements in your personal life and business.
4 Reasons To Take Control Of Your Email
- Less Stress by handling each email right then, I don’t leave the email in my inbox to handle it later. Meaning when I open the email I decide if I will do the task now or schedule it. After I take action, the email gets file or deleted.
- Get More Done when you inbox zero everyday. If your inbox is the to-do list your prospects, clients, co-workers, and multiple bosses write on. I think you want to empty it every day, right?.
- More Opportunities to create a new sale, to answer a clients, co-worker, o your boss questions and in turn it will give you what you want in return.
- Improves Your Reputation when you respond in a timely manner to your emails, and that has a lot to say about you.
Now that you have a few good reason to regain control of your email inbox. Lets go over a few simple tricks.

One email. All your subscriptions. Done.
Defer
If an email is not urgent, or not actionable until later, most people tend to leave it in the Inbox. The problem is this causes you to look at it (i.e. spend time and focus thinking about it) every time you look in your Inbox. A much better way is to file it on a “waiting folder” or schedule the email task and delete the email. This way you don’t have to worry about it until it becomes actionable.
Respond
If an email is really urgent, or if a response will take under 2 minutes, just reply now. Don’t waste time thinking of what to do with it. You can learn more about it by clicking in this link
Use Canned Responses
It lets you saves you from retyping the same thing over and over (or copying/ pasting from somewhere else). You can use templates, signatures, or programs such as TextExpander.
